How To Make Payment Online With A Credit/Debit Card.

(1/2) > >>

Ken Nwankwo:
Hello Gurus,

Based on my resolve to help you grow better, I will be trying all my best to address certain little (but huge) issues when it comes to developing online businesses.

Recently, I have discovered that most people don’t know how to make payment online using either a credit or debit card.

But before I proceed, let me tell Nigerian audience that the Visa and MasterCard you obtain from local banks will only work on http:// sites and NOT on https:// sites. So, if you have such cards, you may have discovered that you are not be able to make payments online successfully.

However, if you have other cards like Payoneer MasterCard, Virtual VISA Card from either and or Plastic VISA /MasterCard issued by banks in US, Europe, Asia and other African countries like South Africa, then you will find this article very helpful.

In January, 2009, I discovered that the billing processors used by online merchants have changed tactics. Previously, you can make payment online just by inserting the correct credit/debit card details in the right boxes and clicking Submit button.

Right now, it’s not possible any more.

To make payment for your Google Adwords, Godaddy, Getresponse, etc accounts, first check the IP address of your internet connection by visiting

For example, if you are using MTN, Zain, StarComm, VisaFone to browse, then it must show a Nigerian IP. Take the next step by visiting the website you want to make the payment and try to pay.

When the payment registration form shows up, go straight to the billing address and click on the pull down menu for country. If you see Nigeria or your country, it means you can make payment by using your Nigerian (or country’s) address. Most of the online payments I make, I do use my Nigerian address and everything do go seamlessly.

So, confidently enter all your details as required in the form you will see and make your payment seamlessly.

Ok, What Is The Secret I Want You To Learn?

The secret is this:

“You can only make payment online using a credit or debit card when the IP Address of your internet connection match the Country you provided in your billing address”.

It means, if you provide a US address as your billing address, then you must use a US IP address for making payment. If not, your credit or debit card will not be charged.

Hope you get the gist now?

Now, go to, get your VISA cards and shop online seamlessly by yourself.

I’m committed to your success,

Thank you Guru's Guru for this invaluable info. Does it mean that if I use Payoneer Mastercard, I don't need to change my IP as a Nigerian?

Thanks for this great info. Ken

You're all welcome my Gurus.

Now back to your question, if you have a Payoneer card, it
means that it was pre-configured with your Nigerian address.

So, using Nigerian IP is not a problem. The billing software
will pass you through.

Take care!

Good info,

But Ken, I tried using my Payoneer Mastacard to pay for a product online but Nigeria was not listed under the "location". What should I do?
